Our Mission: To enhance the lives of dogs and cats through education and research, and to facilitate the acquisition, training and placement of service dogs for disabled American veterans.

At Blue Buffalo we’re truly passionate about the health and wellbeing of the dogs and cats that bring us so much love. In addition, we are concerned about the critical shortage of service dogs for disabled American veterans as the love and intelligence of a canine companion can be a truly life-saving experience for them. So as we’ve grown as a company, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our furry family members, and to the veterans who have become disabled in the service of our country.

That’s why we created the Blue Buffalo Foundation. A nonprofit, charitable organization, the Blue Buffalo Foundation encompasses a variety of programs intended to enhance and improve the lives of our furry friends by funding cancer research, financial assistance for cancer treatments, veterinary scholarships and by providing financial support to organizations who provide service dogs for disabled military personnel.

It all begins with “Blue” Bishop, a large-breed Airedale battling cancer, whose dedicated family was inspired to develop a healthy, commercially available pet food. After consulting with veterinarians and expert animal nutritionists, Blue Buffalo® is born.
